Those are load rated p metric. There also was some dry rot to be fair as the tires are over four years old in the desert heat. Trying to make a good decision here thanks! Last edited: Nov 8, Enthusiast III. I honestly cannot explain why they are showing a higher load index at a lower pressure, on the same size tire, it's counter intuitive.Traforo monte bianco tempo percorrenza
That said, I would just buy the Wildpeaks in LT and call it good. Reactions: 64Trvlr and WrightRunner. Thanks for that. And while each set served its purpose, I was left feeling unsatisfied. I liked the aggressive look of the mud terrain, but like many, I was not a fan of the constant tire noise on the highway. After I managed to take a chunk of sidewall out of my Treadwrights, I decided it was time to find a new set of tires. See all the sizes on Falkens website here.
I had heard many good things about the Falken Wildpeaks, more specifically how they performed in the snow and figured I would give them a shot. Coming from a mud terrain, I was a little afraid I would notice a loss in performance when it came to offroading, but I could not have been more wrong.
I got the tires in late November in — the perfect time for snow wheeling season and they did not disappoint.
Even with open differentials, I was unstoppable in the snow. When summer rolled around and the snow began to melt, I was very eager to get out and try these tires in dry conditions. On the first dry wheeling trip of the year, I was once again blown away by the Falken Wildpeaks. Not only did they do extremely well on and off the road, but they were affordable.
However, big tires also mean terrible gas mileage and a quarter-mile time that not even a snail would be proud of. The Falkens are fairly lightweight, in fact, I barely noticed a difference coming from my Treadwrights, which were fairly heavy for how small they were.

My first time ever wheeling these tires in dry conditions, my friend and I ran a pretty hard trail on the 4th of July, and I was amazed at how well I kept up with his 4Runner which is locked front and rear. In fact, he struggled more than I did on some obstacles.
These tires are absolutely amazing in the snow. Not only do they get me up i80 in winter storm conditions without breaking a sweat, but they will plow through trails that would otherwise be infeasible. I try and stay out of the mud as much as humanly possible, but if you wheel as much as I do, mud is inevitable.
I do most of my off-roading in the summertime where I can put my 4Runner through some serious trails like the Rubicon or Deer Valley, so I was a little skeptical when I first bought the all-terrains because I thought I was not going to have the traction that my mud terrains once had.Mhgu longsword upgrade tree
I got maybe 20k out of my K02s and that was before I really got into off-roading. I have tested them in about every off-road condition. The latest in new 4Runner parts, products and gear. Final Thoughts At the end of the day, I really can not find any bad things to say about this tire. Questions or Comments?

KO2 vs Dynapro vs Falken Wildpeak? Post Reply. First I have to say hello, I am the owner of A crewmax limited. I love this site it is very informative.
I am looking for new tires. I have the crappy coopers that came with the truck and finally they are done. The BF are 8 ply while the others are 4 ply. Which tire will ride better? Which one do you recommend? Any help would be appreciated. We primarily stick to the Toyo AT2 for the all terrains. I know that doesn't help much with your comparisons, but out of those, go with the KO2.Staining your deck white
Welcome squid. The ko2 are a great tire. J4RR3N4Apr 6, COMiamiFan likes this. Some folks here have Falken and love 'em. COMiamiFanApr 6, If you tow or haul, go with the KO2s. I have KO2s now and have had Falkens in the past on a different truck. Both are great tires, but I would not consider a P rated tire for my truck.Remember Me? Site Navigation. Take it back to DTD, they rebalance and it doesn't go away. They're nice enough to prorate a new set of wildpeaks.
New set installed - vibration. Rebalanced, vibration. Ordered KO2s, installed - less vibration than the wildpeaks but instead of mph only, the KO2s have a vibration anything over 35mph. At this point, I'm not sure what to order.
I do know I'm going to a different DTD location. New Toyo AT3, try another set of wildpeaks? Who knows. Before anyone mentions it - all the machines at my local DTD are the Hunter road force balancers.

I'm also putting on a suspension lift and finally getting around to building out the overland vehicle I imagined when I bought the truck. I think I'll give the AT3W's a shot this time around. Would the P rated tire be good enough or should I stick with the LT? Originally Posted by Bill Z. Originally Posted by ryguytheman. After that, I didn't really experience the issue again. I'm far from an expert on tires, but it seemed to me like I had worn them to a particularly bad part of the tread as far as wet traction goes, and once that was gone things went back to normal. I'm still on the same set, closing in on 50K miles with them.
Haven't had much to complain about other than those few weeks where it seemed like I couldn't grip wet pavement. I had bfg's on my 76 ford pu, Just pulled set of Wrangler TrailRunners at Just about done as far as tread.
Pretty happy with them, ride was excellent, grip was good all around especially snow which is the most important thing here in the winter.

Falken Wildpeak A/T3W Tires: 20K Mile Full Review & Overview
Is there any significant gain in power and mpg to justify making the swap? I don't recall how the truck felt with stock tires as I swapped them out with only miles on the truck. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. You will gain something back, its hard to say how much. Are you in need of tires? Then I say do it, you won't lose anything. But I wouldn't make the switch if your BFGs still have life left in them. AmanelotNov 12, Also interested! An increase of Hans7Nov 12, Amanelot likes this.
